ST. PETERS CHURCH

At first glance this seems to be just another photograph of St Peters Church, which of course it is, but look to the left. This, to me, is the most interesting feature for there one can see almost all of York Place in its original condition of private residencies, with just a single shop at the corner of Trafalgar Street. I have seen this on no other photograph. The period is the 1800s. The York Place properties were converted to shops during the 1890s.
