SURREY STREET

This photograph shows the narrow opening to Queens Road created by the removal of two buildings, Terminus Shades and the Flowing Stream, in 1924 – 1925. Five more buildings, Nos. 34 –38, Surrey Street were demolished in 1934, and the house just visible at the extreme right is now the OK café adjoining the bus stop. Note the unusual position of the lamp-post in the pavement!
