REMOVAL OF WEST BATTERY, KINGS ROAD. 1858

Clearance of the debris left after the demolition of the West Battery, in January 1858. Copied from a very old original photograph, it lacks clarity, but the entrance to Cannon Place (which took its name from the Battery) can be seen as well as the buildings on the site of the present Metropole Hotel.
